Tangle Teezer Compact Syler Review

After hearing and reading much hype about the Tangle Teezer, I decided to treat myself to the compact version and give it a go for myself. My hair gets knotted really easily, and with it being both fine and bleached, it's quite prone to breakages.

Designed for both wet and dry use, my main reason for purchasing was to see if it did a better job than my wide-toothed comb at removing knots when my hair was wet and freshly washed. I used it last night to distribute my conditioner, and it glided through my hair so effortlessly that I couldn't feel any pulls or tugs like I do with my comb. There were also far fewer hairs left hanging in the bristles, whereas my comb would fetch out chunks at a time!

With a protective case, the Tangle Teezer uses memory flex technology and a revolutionary teeth configuration, meaning it removes knots painlessly and quickly. It's also ergonomically designed, so it sits comfortably in your hands.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the Compact Styler. Whilst my usual comb and brush did eventually remove knots, this does so far more smoothly, so it should hopefully help to keep my hair in better condition. It's also great for distributing conditioners and hair masks. LookFantastic offers a great range of Tangle Teezers, and this pink and black Compact Styler is £11.99.

B. Complete Long-Lasting Nail Polish in 145 Bubble Gum

I'm finally back on track with my blog! This week I had another set-back after getting a nasty infection and narrowly avoiding a stay in hospital. On Thursday it was my birthday, but sadly it was memorable for the wrong reasons this year, and I spent most of it dosed up on medication in bed!

Amongst my presents was this lovely B. Complete nail polish, so today I decided to try it out today. Bubble Gum is an apt name, it's such a vibrant pink and has a gorgeous shimmery blue undertone to it.

The brush is a little wide for my liking, however the polish applied so smoothly and evenly, with no need for a second coat.

It took quite a while for that 'tacky' feeling to go, so it's not one if you're applying in a rush as it seems to take its time to fully dry. There's nothing worse than smudged nails! However I'm really pleased with the colour. What do you think?

This is my first B. Complete nail varnish and I'm sure it won't be my last. It has a high-shine finish too for that extra bit of glamour! You can get this shade for £3.32 at Superdrug.

Have you tried any other products from B. Complete? What's your favourite bargain nail polish?

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Stick in Shocking Coral

I love my lipsticks, and recently I picked up this gorgeous coral pink one from Maybelline. Although it looks more red-toned in the bullet, it actually comes out as a really bright pink.

Here it is without flash:

And with flash:

I think it's a great statement shade that's perfect for both day and evening wear. It also has a slightly glossy finish for an extra glam look, as well as being long-lasting. It wasn't the smoothest to go on, but overall I'm really impressed with it, and I'll definitely be purchasing more Color Sensational shades.

What are your favourite lipsticks? What kind of colours to you like to wear?

Holiday Nails: Rimmel I Love Lasting Finish in Pop Your Pink

Tomorrow I head to Las Vegas for a week, and I couldn't be more excited! I've spent most of today pampering myself (and scheduling some posts for throughout the week), and of course this included painting my nails a beautiful summery colour.

I love Rimmel nail polishes but this is the first I Love Lasting finish one that I've tried, and I'm so impressed! The colour is so vibrant, and it applied really smoothly. It was also completely dry in five minutes, so it's great if you've not got much time to spare.

With its promises of being long-lasting, I'll be interested to see how good this looks after a week in Vegas! I've packed it just in case it needs any touch-ups though.

At just £2.99 from Superdrug, it's an absolute bargain, and if it lives up to my expectations then I'll definitely be treating myself to a few more shades! What are your favourite brands when it comes to nail polish?

Sleek MakeUP True Colour Lipsticks

Yesterday I went to Manchester for a catch up and shopping trip with my lovely friend Natalie, and we ended up popping into the new Paul's Hair World shop in the Arndale. Sadly, the original shop in the Northern Quarter burned down last month, and even more tragically, a fire-fighter lost his life, so they were holding a raffle to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity - I bought a ticket and won a £10 voucher to spend in store, and as hair extensions aren't really by bag, I decided to head over to the Sleek MakeUP stand and treat myself to two lovely lipsticks.

I chose 'Loved Up', which is a vibrant shocking pink shade (think Barbie levels of pink), and 'Stiletto', which is a classic, deep red that still has quite a pink undertone. Loved Up has a subtle sheen, whilst Stiletto has a matte finish on the lips.

Loved Up (on the left) seemed to apply a little bit more smoothly, however both had fantastic staying power. I got a good 4 hours of wear before they even came close to needing a touch up, even after eating and drinking. They're perfect for nights out, and since they're long-lasting, you won't need to worry about precise re-application when you've has one vodka too many!

As well as having fantastic colour payoff, Sleek MakeUP True Colour Lipsticks are formulated with vitamin E to keep your lips conditioned and hydrated, whilst protecting against ageing free radicals.

I'll definitely be investing in more Sleek MakeUP products in the future, and I can't wait to wear Loved Up for my night out in Manchester tomorrow. If you fancy making a cheeky purchase yourself, you can buy these lipstick for £4.99 here. Have you used Sleek MakeUP before? Which is your favourite lipstick in your collection? I'd love to hear your recommendations!

Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Lip Balm

Nothing beats the feeling of kissably soft lips, and this Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Lip Balm certainly keeps its promise of being 'nourishing, soothing and multi-tasking'. I was introduced to this little gem when I received it in a GlossyBox a couple of months back, and it's been my go-to lip care product ever since.

Made from 100% pure and natural ingredients, it's packed with antioxidants and omega fatty acids which keep your lips smooth and supple, keeping them hydrated long after you've applied it. It also has a subtle yet noticeable pink tint, which looks absolutely gorgeous on your lips, as well as having  yummy taste that's just like those Haribo cherry sweets!.

Another thing which I really love about this lip balm is that it doesn't leave your lips feeling too sticky. I almost always choose lipstick over gloss, for the very reason that I don't like anything that makes my hair stick to my lips, however this feels really light and still gives your lips a stunning sheen. It also works well dabbed over the top of pink lipstick, giving you the perfect pout.

A little goes a long way with this balm, so a 12.5ml tube will last you ages. I've had it for around 2 months and wear it almost every day, and there's hardly even an indent in the tube! The pretty floral packaging is absolutely beautiful too.

You can buy Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Lip Balm (12.5ml) for £4.95 from feelunique.
